Litchfield Police Reserves

The Litchfield Police Reserves is a Volunteer program that operates within the
Litchfield Police Dept. and have been for many years.  It is made up of a group of about 10-15 people just like you, Citizens of the City of Litchfield.  They have regular jobs that they work 40 hrs a week, but come and volunteer their time a couple of days a week or on the weeks ends.
I believe that they have to put in 24 hours every 3 months.
The Reserves have their own by-laws in conduct, dress and guidelines in which to
follow.  They have a squad car to drive and help us by having a extra pair of eyes, ears, and hands when we get overly busy or are tied up on calls or arrests.    In order to be a reserve you must fill out a application with the Litchfield Police Reserves which can be obtained by the Reserves Captain, Scott Archibald.  They have other ranking positions such a 1 Lt. 2 Sergeants, and several Officers.  After you submit a application you will under-go a background check and will be discussed at a meeting, interview, and then voted on the group.      I should be getting a picture and list of names in the next few weeks.

A Special Thanks to several Reserves!
A few of the Reserves have given of their time and "guts" to help Jerry be a more useful tool to the department.    By being decoys for Demo's and much more.      Shane Grammer & Eric Lamb and Rick Evans have given more than a Handler could wish for in a Volunteer situation.
I've asked them to do things some grown men won't do.    Get in the Bite Suit or in a Hidden Sleeve, or use a soft baton and strike either me or the dog in a training situation.
I've asked them to stand in a dark room and take a hit from a dog that is looking for them.  Try standing in a dark room knowing that your going to get bit, somewhere on your body, by a dog that is trained to bite, but don't know When? or Where? it's going to happen, with only a thick material substance to protect you from the sharp 1" long teeth.
THANKS  A LOT GUYS
And for anyone I might have forgotten about, I'm sorry, please bring it to my attention and I'll be glad to add you.
